Has anyone ever wondered what Bo is like away from his radio show? Like, do you think he keeps his whiskey and cigar shtick up all the time? Or does he give it a rest when he's off the clock? I imagine personalities like Cowherd and Skip Bayless, people that try to move the needle by acting contrarian, give it a rest off the air. It's probably fucking exhausting to keep up the role of arrogant bastard.
That's why I've always thought Bo's on-air personality was probably a far cry from what he's like at home. I tell myself that because I'm not ready to believe that someone can act like such a haughty dipshit naturally.

Below is a story email to me from an anonymous reader who apparently felt like sharing his personal encounter with Bo. What I can deduce from this story, he’s “on” all the time. Or, and I’m choosing not to believe this because it’s depressing, it’s not an act at all and his personality is really that insufferable.
Admittedly, what follows is slightly biased. The first line of his email said “I'm in full agreement with your assessment of Bo Bounds and his "lifestyle." But I think his story is worth telling and that’s why I’m here - to spread my personal judgment that Bo Bounds is the Worst.
The following was emailed to me unprompted and anonymously. The story appears unedited.

We were introduced by a mutual friend at a local bar one evening and he immediately went into his "I'm important" mode and began talk about all the pro athletes he had been text messaging the previous few days. This was completely unprompted by me.
He then summed up his essence with the following:
His began talking about his buddy Bert Carruth and how he had led Parklane Academy to 3 state championships his senior year. I told him that Bert won football & basketball, but I know he didn't win baseball. Bo immediately told me I didn't know what I was talking about and what made me so sure that I was correct. Well, I told him I knew because I WAS ON THE BASEBALL TEAM THAT PUT PARKLANE OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS.
This meant nothing to Bo, who continued to assert that I was wrong and that "he was sure Bert won all 3 titles that year." I asked him if he had attended any of those games 20+ years ago and he said no.
So, Bo is arguing the incorrect side of an argument (with absolute confidence, of course) about a high school baseball game he did not attend and he's arguing with someone WHO PLAYED IN THE GAME IN QUESTION.
That’s actually pretty unsurprising. The idea of Bo staunchly defending a position he never took time to understand in the first place is not new. But a few quick google searches didn't turn up shit. So, I replied and asked for some supporting information so that I could try to confirm his story.
Here’s what he came back with:
The year was 1990 and I attended Hillcrest Christian School in South Jackson. I don't remember the scores of the games, but we defeated Parklane (Bert's team) in the opening round series of the baseball playoffs, then lost 2 games to 1 to Jackson Prep in the AAA state championship series (we won AAA in baseball in both 1989 and 1991). Parklane had won both the AAA football and the Overall (but not AAA) basketball championships that school year.
Is anybody confirm/deny these details? Again, google was no help and I was 8 when all this went down.
More importantly, anyone that has their own personal Bo Bounds stories to tell, please email me at boboundsistheworst@gmail.com
Found this on the Jackson Prep website, confirming JP did win the 1990 MPSA State AAA Championship. Scroll down about 1/4 of the page.

Can't find mention of Hillcrest being the team they beat, but it does confirm a lack of title for Bert's 1990 Parklane team.
