Who is Ryan Braun?

I'm not totally sure how this came about, but today Bo revealed on air that he doesn't know who Ryan Braun is. You guys know Ryan Braun, the Brewers left fielder and reigning NL MVP (for a few more days) and central figure in the disputed PED test from the spring. Maybe not a household name, but it's not like he's the fifth guy in a rotation or some minor league call-up.

Nice comeback, asshole
When pressed about his ignorance, Bo's answer on air went exactly like this: "Because I'm not paid to know who Ryan Braun who is. I haven't watched a Brewers game since Robin Yount and Paul Molitor played."

The sentence that begins "because I'm not paid to..." is classic Bo. Of course this asshole wouldn't serve his listeners by brushing up on baseball from time to time. No, he'd rather act like he's 'paid' to talk stale football topics year round.

This whole thing is curious to me because, literally, one day ago this article about Braun getting engaged to a model  was posted on Yall Sports.

Bo, do you even read your own shitty website? Christ, you tweeted a link to it. You host a sports talk radio show. I know you don't talk a lot of baseball, but he's one of the best players in the game. You should know his name and a couple others.

Petrino to Kentucky: You're Missing the Point

Late last week there was a rumor floated that had Bobby Petrino becoming the next coach at Kentucky. This wasn’t a rumor so much as Petrino’s dad running his mouth and saying that Bobby was interested in thejob. First, usually these stories are planted anonymously as “sources close to the situation” It’s not a good look to have your dad lobbying on your behalf. Second, of course he’s interested in the job. I bet he’d be interested in running a lemonade stand at this point.

To this news Bo said “If he wants to be at Kentucky, they have to hire him. Period. End of Discussion.”

This is fine. Whatever. Maybe Petrino’s a good coach but the fact that he’s a selfish dickhead cannot be overlooked.

I guess a lot of people think this, too, because then Bo added this little piece:

Think about surgeons, lawyers, architects, engineers, venture capitalists...because unlike most of the country, apparently [Ed. Bo still upset about the election], I don’t begrudge people for making money and being successful...you don’t get to ask them in job interviews if they’ve cheated on their wife.

Way to miss the point asshole. The problem here is not that he cheated on his wife. As is usually the case, the cover up is worse than the crime. He lied to cover his own ass – something he has a history of doing at the end of his last head coaching jobs.

When was the last time you think Bo went on a job interview? This asshole thinks a standard interview might include questions about your sexual behavior. Probably not. But even at job interviews for rich white men they will ask you why you're no longer employed at your previous job. Basically, if you're living the Y'all Lifestyle it's okay to cheat on your wife as long as it doesn't effect your earning potential.

Luckily, all of his listeners aren’t mouthbreathing morons. So my man Lee Stapleton let him know on twitter - a six tweet barrage that went unanswered by Bo. Sorry, Lee. Bo doesn't have time for well-reasoned counter arguments. He's got visors to sell.

Also, I wanted to add this little exchange Bo had on twitter over the Robert Nkemdiche to Ole Miss rumor. I don't know why Bo let's himself get dragged into stuff like this. Oh wait, it's because he's the worst.

Bo Bounds: Politcal Pundit

Mitt Romney is like the Mack Brown of the Republican Party
I knew Out of Bounds was going to be worth tuning into this morning. Lately Bo hasn't been very secretive about his political leanings and where he was casting his vote for president. And when I woke up to these two tweets I knew I needed to hear what else was on his mind. His first guest didn't come on for almost 40 minutes so I was treated to his ramblings for most of the first hour.

The highlights:

I think Drug Dog meant *goodbye*
Bo starts the show off by saying, "Thanks for reelecting us as you college football show of choice." If sports talk radio host was regulated by the government, Bo would've been impeached already.

He built a whole segment around sports figures and their reaction to the election on twitter. And he teased  this segment  by saying reminding us that athletes and coaches are not as smart as you think. Yeah, well neither are radio hosts. He then proceeds to read tweets on-air from Lebron James, Brian Dawkins, Scott Fujita, Dick Vitale, Mike Tyson, Kevin Durant, etc. These were all positive reactions to the elections, congratulations to Obama, four more years type stuff.

So, during this, Bo pauses and says, "Remember most of these guys are in the 40%-50% tax bracket." When he finishes reading tweets (sidenote: how does he still have a job?), drops the hammer by saying "We recently had a guy give his parents his signing bonus. But he didn’t realize that taxes were gonna be taken out. So he was basically upside down while he was writing his parents a check.” There's some laughter in the background, and Bo wraps it up by saying "that just gives you an idea of what we’re dealing with."

That's really masterful. A slow build through all the tweets mostly in favor of President Obama. And then right at the end, he lets you know how stupid he thinks athletes are because they'll be paying hiher taxes and couldn't be happier about it. At least one NBA rookie, Royce White, is prepared for his new tax bracket and taking it all in stride.

Don't Call it a Comeback

My post yesterday was my first in almost six months. Sorry for the layoff. I know that there are probably 6-7 of you clamoring for updates from me. In fact one or two anonymous commenters have said this is their favorite website. You guys need to see more of the internet.

But just because I’ve been silent lately doesn’t mean I’ve given up or have run out of things that annoy me. I want to be very clear about this: Bo Bounds is still the worst.

Bo has  been in rare form lately, he’s got a new t-shirt (more on this thing later), had a blog at Clarion Ledger (which has since been deleted for some reason),making his politics affiliations known on twitter, and this asshole John that he co-hosts with now has got to go. I can’t stay silent any longer.

Going forward I’m going to be posting more frequently. But there’s no way I can cover all the awful-ness that Bo vomits up every day. So let me know in the comments section or email me of something you hear is particularly stupid, completely wrong, or just rubs you the wrong way.

Bo Reacts to Marcus Lattimore....Again

Some of you may have noticed BBITW has been on a recent hiatus (I’m sure most of you just went right on living your lives). I don’t really have a good excuse, but  every now and then I’ve got step away of I’m afraid that my hatred for Bo Bounds will completely consume me.

But I couldn’t stay quiet any longer after the tripe I heard on the radio this morning. At the top of the third hour Bo voiced his opinion on the Marcus Lattimore injury from Saturday afternoon. Now, the injury to Marcus Lattimore was awful and I wish him the best in his recovery (Also, I’m not including a link here to a replay or picture because I respect my readers – I saw it once and I really wish I hadn’t).

This is a subject we’ve been over before (almost one year ago exactly). Bo is of the opinion that Lattimore should already be in the NFL either after spending one or no years in college (apparently he’s not alone). And he began today by saying he should have skipped this year altogether after. Fine. That’s not so farfetched.

But what really sticks in my craw is his short-sighted view on the NFL age limit. According to Bo, players like Trent Richardson and Lattimore should be exempt from the NFL's age requirement. This asshole spends half his talk show every day talking about how important player development is, and then he vomits this up as a talking point. I mean, obviously the key to avoiding injuries is sending someone a year removed from high school up against NFL defenses.
