What is Bo's Real Name?

Definitely looks like more of a "Woodie"

The short answer is Woodie. Woodie H. Bounds. You can look it up. But don’t waste your time. Because I’ve done it for you. 

Using the power of the internet and records available to the public in the state of Mississippi, I was able to ascertain that Bo Bounds, purveyor of the Y’all Lifestyle, is using a stage name.  

I began this search by trying to get a good look at the Y’all Mansion. So, like any trained internet stalker I performed a search for the last name Bounds on the Madison County Landroll. There were a handful of returns but only one made sense: Woodie H. and Wendy Bounds on Lake Cavalier. 

I know that Bo’s wife's name is Wendy; he mentions her all the time. And I know that Bo lives on a lake because he reminds us all the fucking time. By all accounts this is Bo Bounds’ address. 

But who is Woodie Bounds?

This led me to a deeper search about Bo’s real name. The results after the jump.

Going forward, my search for more information was complicated because Bo’s father’s name is Woodie. And it makes sense that “Bo” was named after his father. But I needed confirmation. A google search for Woodie H Bounds Jr. turns up no usable results. But thanks in large part to Bo’s never-ending entrepreneurial spirit I was able to find some further proof.  

Eventually I found the registration page for Bounds Consulting, Inc. at the Mississippi Secretary of State's Office.  This is indeed a company registered to Woodie H. and Wendy Bounds. Bounds Consulting, Inc. has up to date records with the Secretary of State and the principals match the names and address from my landroll search (By the way, the nature of the business is listed as commercial printing. So this is probably the company that peddles Y’all lifestyle products. I’m guessing there wasn’t a place on the form to right bullshit t-shirt/hat manufacturer or supplier of worthless catchphrases).

But this only matched the names and address from my landroll search. I kept going in search of further proof. And I found it in the filing for Out of Bounds, LLC. And this was also registered to Woodie Bounds. OOB LLLC serves as the the “parent company” for three of Bo Bounds’ past endeavors: First Team Marketing, Out of Bounds Outdoors, and Out of Bounds Sports.

This was the hammer for me. Now we have proof that Bo’s given name is Woodie as it appears on several legal documents that are linked to him.
 

I feel like I should also mention this. While I was digging around I came across another Bo, nay Woodie Bounds, creation – Nothing But the Blues, LLC. Sadly, I think we will be deprived of whatever this is. The filing was made back in 2009 and registered at the address of SuperSport 930 – Bo’s old radio station before he moved to ESPN The Zone.I can’t help but wonder what he was going to unleash on us. Probably t-shirts and hats that said “nothing  but the blues” with cartoon guitars on them. Just a guess.  

But so many questions remain. When did Woodie start going by “Bo?” Is it a childhood nickname? Something his family and friends started? Maybe he picked it up in high school? Or sometime after that? Could it be just a stage name to keep up his lifestyle appearances? I mean, are you gonna buy radio air time from somebody named Woodie?
